My Response to: Online Literacy A "Lesser" Kind?

Is online literacy a "lesser" kind?

This is the question, but what are my thoughts? . . .
I will indulge you!

After reading the article: Online Literacy is a Lesser Kind By Mark Bauerlein, I actually started paying attention to how I was reading the article. It was very strange to be reading an online article about how people read an online article, while all the while thinking about how I was reading this particular article. Bahhhh!!!
Talk about confusion!

After this, it went on to talk about if technology is affecting the learning process in the classroom. I do not realy ever think about this concept, because I was born in the technology era. I have never realy been opposed to technology in the classroom, but I do not think that it should take over. The whole idea of not even having to walk to class by having class online urkes me. Learning is all about communication with a teacher and students. Online communication is not as personable. This is the Americanized, lazy version to learning and I do not agree with taking technology this far.

INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN THIS!

Blog Prompt #1

I chose to read Megan Reardon's blog on Rebecca's Pocket! So here it goes . . .

My reaction to why Megan blogs:
Well, her life seams pretty darn randomized with things like dramaturgy and interesting knitting patterns. Hmmm I do not believe this would be interesting to your average blogger, but somehow I found it intriguing. I guess this makes me not average . . .

Basically, she described this blog as a craft blog,

"a place for me to keep things I am interested in."

I thought that this was an interesting idea. It did not seem like she wanted to receive feedback from others, hence the reason why she took away the ability for people to comment. Just an on-line thought journal is kinda how I took it. This is somewhat what I do, accept I just bookmark pages online. This is an interesting way to keep track of your thoughts. I do not believe that I would do something like this, but more power to her for thinking of a more creative way to store her thought processes.
